Prepping For Our Professional Photography and Videography Services
The truth is, well-shot photos are going to be a major contributor to getting your property sold. It is essential to allow prospective buyers to get a good feel for the property. Our professional photographers have the experience and expertise to ensure that they position your property in the best light. From clever angles and framing to hide unsightly things, it can do wonders to market your property effectively. However, to make the most out of our visit, you do need to do some prep work before our arrival. While it doesn’t necessarily involve a lot of work, it can help the result.
- Outside
When it comes to taking photos and videos of the exterior of your property, you’ll want to have a clear driveway. Moving your vehicles from the driveway is recommended if possible. Ideally, you want to leave not only the driveway but also the street clear. That way, our professionals can get a good shot of the entire property. You also want to ensure that you have removed and/or hid everything from bins to children’s toys from the driveway and yard. You should also have all of the windows closed with the blinds open. This will give your property a much more uniform and attractive look. If possible, try to do some yard work or gardening before our arrival. Having a freshly mowed lawn will make your property look much more well kept. If you do have patio or garden furniture, ensure that everything is neatly tucked away and organised. If you have a pool, remove the cover and ensure it’s cleaned.
- Inside
Prepping for the inside of your home shouldn’t be too difficult. When prepping for the interior, you simply want to create the facade of a clean home. It doesn’t matter if your home is clean. You can use the ‘out of sight, out of mind’ strategy. When it comes to the interior of your home, one of the most important rooms to de-clutter would be your kitchen. The kitchen is one of the most important rooms for marketing a property. Try to clear out all of the clutter, clean the surfaces, polish or clean the appliances, and more. Likewise, the bathrooms in your home are just as important. Prospective home buyers will look closely at the bathrooms and the bathrooms can make or break the interest of a prospective buyer. Try to freshen up the shower curtains, clean off mirrors, and polish the sink. While we can effectively touch up photos in the editing process, you’ll want to clear out any mineral stains or scuffs to make it easier and for in-person visits. Ensure that you have good cable management with your entertainment system and consider doing some window cleaning and dusting before taking the photographs.
All of the monitors and televisions in your home should be turned off. You will likely want to put away any personal photographs or documents. While we will typically look to blur any personal photos on the wall, it’s not guaranteed that everything will be completely hidden. You’ll also want to ensure that the underneath of all beds is either clear or hidden by a valance.
